Why add Romaine lettuce to your diabetes defense?

Romaine lettuce beats all other lettuce varieties when it comes to immune-boosting nutrients.

All year long and especially during cold and flu season, we need to make sure we are getting the nutrients we need to fight off all the viruses out there!

Besides hand washing, adequate sleep, and stress management, eating well is super important to keep your immune system strong.

Romaine lettuce is a great source of vitamin B1, B2, C and folic acid. All of these are important for keeping your immune system strong.

The low calorie content also makes Romaine lettuce a great food for weight loss. (Just remember to go easy on the salad dressing.)

Here are 3 Ways to enjoy Romaine . . .

1. Salads

The most common way we tend to eat Romaine lettuce is in a Ceasar salad, but you can make any other salad variety such as this  Walnut Romaine Salad.

2. Sandwiches

Add Romaine to your sandwich for extra crunch and flavor!

3. Wraps

If you want a low carb wrap use a Romaine leaf instead of tortillas such as in these Chicken Lettuce Wraps!

I encourage you to share any other ways you enjoy meals with Romaine!
