Halloween has always been one of my daughter’s favorite time of year. She’s in college now and called me yesterday because she was all stressed out – having trouble ordering the costume she wants. Even when she was little she was the one who wanted to decorate the house and loved getting dressed up in her costume. Miss those days!
She has gotten much more creative since the elementary years. Last year her and a friend made taco costumes with taco bell sayings on them.
But the thing I really wanted to share with you today is the topic of tempting Halloween candy this time of year. Every time I go grocery shopping lately all of the fun fall colors of Halloween candy seem to be calling my name and it’s all I can do to get to the checkout without loading my cart.
I have bought a couple bags of Smarties this season. They are one of the few non-chocolate candies I really like. My real weakness is the Reese’s peanut butter cups and the peanut butter M&M’s. I have a hard time stopping at just one fun-size so I try to not buy them.
This article The-Trick-to-Managing-the-Treats, from the new mindful eating program I am offering, has some good tips to help us get through the Halloween season without too many candy binge days. Please share with us what helps YOU get through the candy binge temptations.
